Stephanie Rafferty

Stephanie has worked to stay active throughout her life. When her two children were very young she would walk early in the morning before they were awake. As her kids grew older she switched to running on the beach. From time to time, due to her running, Stephanie suffered from knee problems, shin splints and so on. Following one of her injuries, she discovered hot yoga. After two months of continuous practice she packed her running shoes away and never looked back.

Soon Stephanie was practicing five to six days a week and quickly began to feel more toned and stronger all over, more than she could say for her running or any other activity. As a result of the discipline and focus of the practice, a sense of calm and balance began filtering into her every day life.

Stephanie became a yoga instructor at Huntington Beach Hot Yoga under the apprenticeship of Jason Wilkerson, 1996 graduate of Bikram’s Yoga College of India and 1997 and 1998 graduate of Bikram’s advanced training course. As an instructor she feels blessed to be able to share the positive rewards of yoga with other practitioners. She is grateful to be a part of the strong sense of family among the instructors as well as the students at HBHY.
